Piste map
The slope map is useful both for identifying avalanche danger and for determining the challenge of your run. If you know the slope, you can also estimate any additional distance you will have to travel because of the slope. Avalanche danger increases when the slope is steeper than 30 degrees. The slope map will help you recognize this risk.

Scale lanyard
This compass model is equipped with a detachable scale lanyard that works like a ruler. The scale lanyard has two scales; 1:25 and 1:50, which makes it easier to measure the distance of your hike. Because it's soft and pliable, it's easy to place directly on your route on the map when you're out in the field - or when you're planning your next adventure.
